Refund Policy
Occasionally, a family decides that Keystone is not a good fit
for their child(ren) to play baseball/softball. A child may
suffer an injury that will preclude them from playing ball the
majority of the season. Whatever the reason, it is nice to know
the refund policy at Keystone. Regardless of the reason, the
family is refunded their registration fee and volunteer fee if
the request is made by March 15. Requests to drop made between
March 15 and the start of the season will receive a reduced
refund to cover Keystone’s uniform costs. Refunds requested
after the start of the season will be considered on a
case-by-case basis. Unsold raffle tickets as well as proceeds
from tickets sold must be returned to receive the refunds
described above. All refund requests should be made to the
Keystone Treasurer (Mark Wanser). |
League Age Determination Date Changes
Effective with the 2006 season,
Little League Baseball changed the league age determination date
to comply with the recommendations of the United States Amateur
Baseball Federation (USA Baseball). The cutoff date changes from
July 31 to April 30 for baseball and to December 31 of the
previous year for softball. Little League Baseball implemented
the change so more players would be playing baseball at their
chronological age during a given season.
For example, under the old rule a baseball player who turned 9
in July would play his entire 9-year-old season before his 9th
birthday. Under the new rule, that season would be his
8-year-old season. Under the old softball regulation, a player
who turns 13 from January through July of 2006 would have been
considered league-age 13 for the entire 2006 season. Under the
new regulation, such a player will have a league age of 12
throughout the 2006 season.
Keystone
Little League will comply with the new league age determination
date. To meet the needs and concerns of our players and
families, Keystone will allow players to play up by one year in
Little League age. If you wish for your child to play up, you
will need request this of a board member during registration and
complete a play-up request form.
Please
note:
Little League Baseball will only allow players to participate on
major (11 and 12 years old) district all-star teams that are
playing at their league age. There is no guarantee that your
child, regardless of their abilities, will be selected to play
on their age-appropriate district all-star team if they play up
during the regular season. These conditions do not apply to
invitational tournament all-star teams.
